Every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at 10 a.m., children and their parents or grandparents are welcome to enjoy the many programs of picture book stories and simple craft projects available at the Rancho Mirage Public Library. Details are available at www.ranchomiragelibrary.org/kids/. Preregistration is not required and there is no fee.

Rancho Mirage Speakers' Series

Dynamic Personalities

Each year, the City presents the Rancho Mirage Speakers' Series which appeals to a wide-range of interests. Speakers entertain and lecture at the Annenberg Center for Health Sciences at Eisenhower Medical Center. Lectures begin at 7:30 p.m. Series tickets go on sale November 16 at Rancho Mirage City Hall. Rancho Mirage residents are mailed information about the series each fall before tickets go on sale. Past guests have included:

Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage

Eisenhower Medical Center, in Rancho Mirage, offers several free services for desert residents. Counseling on Medicare issues and health insurance claims are available to members of the Center for Healthy Living, along with free blood pressure checks and low cost blood tests. To become a member and to learn how to take advantage of the many services being offered, Call (760) 568-1234. Ongoing classes at Eisenhower include Yoga, Pilates, Cardio-Ton, T'ai Chi Chih, Qigong, Senior Stretch and a variety of orthopedic classes including Aqua Cardio and Water Aerobics. Fourth of July Celebration

Palm Desert Civic Center Park

Each year, the City of Rancho Mirage is a proud sponsor of the spectacular July 4th event that takes place at the Palm Desert Civic Center Park. The program generally begins around 7:15 p.m. with a concert in the park, followed by fireworks around 9:00 p.m. which run for approximately 30 minutes. The park is located at the NE corner of San Pablo and Fred Waring Drive in Palm Desert.

Citywide Neighborhood Clean-ups

Twice a Year on Saturdays

Each year the City offers residents an opportunity to participate in a spring and fall clean-up event to discard large bulky items or landscaping debris. These are the perfect times of year to clean out the garage, backyard or tackle a landscaping project. Special brochures announcing curbside collection (appointment only) or designated drop-off sites in the City are mailed out to residents prior to each event. The brochures also announce the availability of Household Hazardous Waste or Electronic Waste collections.

The Rancho Mirage Art Affaire is the City's premier community event featuring a showcase of high quality art with participating artists from all over. Throughout both days of this spectacular festival, musical entertainment features some of the most current performers in jazz, and the cuisine features some of the area's finest local restaurants. The Rancho Mirage Art Affaire is held at the beautiful Whitewater Park located at 71-560 San Jacinto Drive in Rancho Mirage.

Richard & Annette Bloch
Cancer Survivor's Park

Highway 111 & Frank Sinatra Drive
Richard and Annette Bloch Cancers Survivors Park is located adjacent to City Hall at Frank Sinatra and Highway 111. Featuring a pyramid kiosk, tiled benches, ponds, a hillside waterfall, and sculpture, the park is designed to give hope to those with cancer. This park was constructed by the Bloch Foundation as a gift to the community, and an endowment fund helps offset maintenance expenses.

Whitewater Park

Whitewater Park was originally developed in 1982, and expanded in 1994 to accommodate additional active recreational use. The park features four lighted tennis courts, two basketball courts and two racquetball/handball courts, an informal play field, picnic facilities, a children's playground, life-sized fire engine and water feature, a recycling drop-off and walking paths with a fitness trail. Community groups and organizations host events at the park, which is also the site of concerts and festivals for children and families.

Michael S. Wolfson Park

DaVall & Frank Sinatra
Michael S. Wolfson Park, located at DaVall and Frank Sinatra Drive. This park has a Victorian theme that features a fountain, decorative lighting fixtures and benches, with a Braille-marked trail and fragrance garden. A "Welcome" from Frank Sinatra may be heard at the park's entrance. Considered a place for quiet enjoyment, the park also serves as a link in the area's trail system.

Magnesia Falls Neighborhood Park

Magnesia Falls Neighborhood Park is at the north end of the Rancho Mirage Elementary School campus and is in joint use with the Palm Springs Unified School District. This park gives the neighborhood access to playground equipment, shaded areas, picnic tables and an informal ball field, as well as additional landscaping along the edges of the school's play yard.

Blixseth Mountain Park

Mirage Road
Featuring native vegetation, primitive walking trails and stone benches, this park gives visitors an opportunity to observe and enjoy our desert landscape and mountain vistas. The park is located in an area separated from the man-made environment by a flood control channel. Parking is available at the Child Enrichment Center at 71-251 Mirage Road. There are no restrooms or water fountains. Visitors should take water. Trails are easily walkable with little change in elevation.
